Meet the Team

Gerald Rowlett, Owner

The man behind it all. Born and raised in Oregon City, Oregon, Gerald started out roofing just out of high school for a small local company. He joined a small home remodeling company soon after. It wasn’t until he purchased a small lot to build a first home for himself and his wife Sue, that Gerald quickly realized custom homebuilding was his true passion in life.

Fast forward to present day, Gerald is successfully running the team at Westlake Development Group to make everything possible. Gerald and his team don’t just build beautiful custom homes throughout Oregon and Washington, they also take on the NW Natural Street of Dreams every year and attend the International Builders Show in Las Vegas to seek out new and innovative designs.

In 2012 Gerald founded the Building a Better America Council to educate others on the importance of using American Made materials instead of outsourcing foreign products. Along with giving back to the hard-working American individuals, Gerald devotes many hours to his Veteran’s Steering Committee to honor our country’s bravest, both active and retired.

While continuing to thrive and change the way homes are built across the country today, Gerald also likes to spend his downtime visiting his favorite wineries in the Willamette Valley with Sue, enjoying the summer days on the river or just spending time at home with the dogs.

Kelly Rowlett

Kelly grew up surrounded by the building industry and, following in her father’s footsteps, she quickly developed a love of custom home building. While keeping each project organized and in order on the homefront, Kelly handles all administration, project numbers, web design, photos, and social media.

She also devotes time helping and organizing events for the Veteran’s Steering Committee to raise awareness of the needs of veterans on several levels, as well as honoring active and retired military members, including her boyfriend Geoffrey, an active USMC Corporal.

When Kelly’s not keeping all paperwork, projects, and social media up to date, she spends most of her time designing her and Geoffrey’s first home on the outskirts of Estacada and relaxing with her dog, Boo. She also makes sure to take time away from work to fly down and visit Geoffrey, stationed in Southern California. Between the work and weekend trips, Kelly likes to be out in the great Oregon outdoors, enjoying activities like fishing, hiking, archery, or target shooting.

Sue Rowlett

Sue is the support behind Westlake Development Group. With more than 25 years of experience volunteering her time and supporting our local community, she provides ideas and insights towards our charity fundraising events, as well as our Veterans Steering Committee.

Not only does she provide the foundation for our fundraisers and community support, Sue also keeps the entire office organized and running smoothly. Each year for the NW Natural Street of Dreams she spends hours keeping the home in show condition and engaging visitors.

When Sue isn’t busy keeping both the team and office well-organized, she shares a love for visiting different wineries in the Willamette Valley with Gerald. She also enjoys spending time gardening and creating DIY projects, as well as relaxing at home with her two rescue dogs.
